AquaSplint™ Thermo, Set
AquaSplint® thermo is a self-adjusting and customisable prefabricated CMD splint that can be inserted in a few minutes without laboratory work, impressions or registration. It consists of two water cushions connected by a hose (hydrostatic Aqua-Balance effect).
The difference between the AquaSplint® thermo & classic:
AquaSplint® classic is the CMD bite splint known worldwide up to now and the AquaSplint® thermo differs in the following features:
The thermo is easier to use
It already has a thermoplastic lining in the saddle, so that the previously known accessories such as bonding and silicone relining syringe are no longer necessary
The adjustment process can be repeated if the result is unwanted (splint does not fit properly)

Contraindications:
- Severe bruxism / crunching reduces shelf life
- Sharp edges on dentures, tooth crowns etc. can damage the water cushions

Put AquaSplint thermo with tweezers in 80 °C hot water for 2-3 minutes until the plastic becomes transparent.
Then leave to cool for 10 seconds in cold water.
Insert AquaSplint thermo in the lower jaw and allow to cool for approx. 5 minutes.
Rinse with cold water to accelerate the cooling process. Remove after solidification.
Remove any excess material that might interfere with occlusion. If the result is undesirable, the entire procedure can be repeated.
